A Bit about Boulder City NV

Established in 1932, Boulder City was created by the Bureau of Reclamation to accommodate those constructing the world-renowned Hoover Dam. In 1930, Saco Rienk DeBoer – a skilled landscape architect – designed this massive engineering project then known as “Boulder Dam.” After nearly three decades under their control, the Bureau relinquished power over Boulder City, and on January 4th, 1960 it officially became an incorporated city with pharmacists Robert N. Broadbent elected mayor for his first term. Interestingly enough, among Nevada’s cities, it is second only to Las Vegas which outlawed gambling making Boulder Canyon its namesake even more fitting!
