Nbope Qualifications For Testing

The Nevada Board of Plumbing Examiners has set the following qualifications for testing for Journeyman Plumbers and for Master Plumbers.

For Journeymen, applicants must have four (4) years or 8,000 hours of substantiated field experience in the plumbing trade. They must submit an affidavit of experience, a valid photo identification, and a test fee of $125.

Meanwhile, for Master Plumbers, they advise that person shall submit an application for the Clark County or Reno Masters Test without showing proof of holding a NBOPE Certificate as a Clark County or Reno Journeyman Plumber for a period of one year or 2,000 hours. They must submit an affidavit of experience, a valid photo identification, and a test fee of $125.

The Nevada Board of Plumbing Examiners was founded in 2002 as a non-profit organization. In 2008, the plumbing boards from both the north and south merged and now are one. Nevada was reported to be one of the fastest growing states in the United States. The skilled (certified and licensed) workforce that supports this growth has continued to diminish in size and educational development.

It is dedicated to the promotion, advancement, education and the initiation of positive testing programs for Journeymen and Master Plumbers that will raise industry, trade and public awareness to its effectiveness for the wellness of our state and communities and well being of those that visit, habitat, work and play in the State of Nevada.
